| The new Garmont Axon is for the aggressive off-piste, backcountry freeride and ski mountaineer who demands the highest-performance ski boots with full walk mode.
Features:
• Stiffness: Endorphin polymers; very stiff forward flex and torsional rigidity
• Binding compatibility: ISO Ski Mountaineering and Dynafit® Lightweight and powerful touring-for-Freeride use.
• Outer Sole: Garmont Ski Mountaineering
• Inner sole: Micropore-foam inner footbed for warmth and weight reduction.
• Weight: Axon (Shell+Liner) = 2075gms per ½ pair.
• Fit and Volume: Similar to the Endorphin, with a slightly tweaked fit, enhancing performance and control. The inclusion of the zeppa and the new liner combine to create a refined fit that is even better than the fit delivered on the Endorphin and Adrenalin.
• Walk mechanism: Three-position cuff lock and walk mechanism: 20º, 25º, and free for walking
• Canting: External cuff alignment (canting) mechanism
• Buckles: Garmont Freeride Aluminum
• Zeppa – the liner rests on a slightly elastic, lower shell insert, similar to that seen in the Shamans. It also adds protection from cold transfer through the sole of the boot. The zeppa is removable and in the right craftsman’s hands, could be sanded to adjust skier position in the boot.
• Micro Adjustable - Alu Buckles, as you have seen on Adrenalin etc. These are field replaceable, and both cuff buckle catches are adjustable to 3 locations with a total of 30 mm of range. The micro adjustment adds another ~8mm of adjustment as well.
• Rear Spoiler – Adjustable height.
• Double Injected Cuff - Stiff laterally, reinforced with a higher durometer injection up the sides and around the back. The front of the cuff is injected with a durometer that wraps closely and comfortably around the lower leg.
• Double Injected ‘Broadband’ Tongue - Creates a smooth, progressive forward flex, and disperses buckle pressure.
• Anatomic Lower Shell - Shaped like the foot – more room over the dorsal ridge, less room on the lateral side gives faster edge to edge control and allows a closer fit with less liner bulk.
• Cuff Stops: Located on the inside of the cuff and designed to engage on the medial side before the lateral side so that they help transmit pressure through the shell to the inside ski edge.
• Asymmetrical tongue Height - The shell tongue is higher on the medial side, helping direct energy to the inside edge of the ski.
• Asymmetrical Cuff Height - The medial side of the cuff is higher and the thickness tapers towards the top.
