Hilleberg's flagship tents, the Keron models may have been designed and built for heavy duty, professional use, but they are ideal for any discerning, demanding user. For over 20 years, the Keron has set the standard for hard use, all-season wilderness tents, both in strength to weight, and in space to weight ratios. This is why it is so often chosen by professional outdoor guides, arctic expeditions, and Search and Rescue teams. That same rugged spaciousness is also why the Keron is an excellent choice for anything from a couple of days on the trail to an assault on a remote peak to a family car camping expedition. A Keron is, by design, a roomy tent. But if even more room is needed – say, for longer trips - a group can always “upgrade”: two people in the Keron 3, or three people in the Keron 4. Such obvious extra comfort comes with only a minimal weight increase: a Keron 4 is only 500 g/17 oz heavier than a Keron 3, while a Keron 3 weighs a mere 400 g/14 oz more than a Keron 2. And with a vestibule and an entrance on each end, it’s always possible to situate an entrance that’s out of the wind, stow all of the group’s gear, and still have space left for food preparation. Each vestibule also has a large vent, placed high enough so it will function well even if the tent is dug down into deep snow. Two years in a row the Keron has been selected “best tent” by the readers of the German magazine Outdoor. Keron is the Sami word for grouse. Another variation of the word is Kiruna, a town in the very far north of Sweden.
