A mummy bag for those who don’t like mummy bags
Western Mountaineering’s Sycamore bag offers the warmth of a Mummy style hood with the comfort and space of a traditional bag. Despite the generous size, the Sycamore is rated conservatively down to 25 degrees.
Warmth is provided by 19 oz. of Western’s premium down and a hood that can be drawn tight around the face for lots of warmth. When the weather is warm, continuous horizontal down baffles allow down to be pushed from the top of the bag to underneath your body, making the bag feel cooler. On really warm nights the bag can be fully unzipped and used as a comforter, or unzipped at the feet for extra airflow.
Surrounding the Western Mountaineering Badger MF is a Microlite XP microfiber. This fabric reduces the total weight of each bag in this series by 15 to 20 percent. Despite the drop in weight, Microlight XP microfiber still contains over 400 threads per square inch to offer impressive weather resistance and breathability. Its hard to imagine a more impressive combination of performance characteristics in a shell fabric.
