The NW Alpine Neoshell Alpine Salopette has been on major ascents from the Alaska Range to the Karakoram and put to use on climbs in all the cold places in between. If there was ever a piece of alpine kit born in the field, this is it.
The development of this alpine climbing bibbed pant is the culmination of years of testing and refinement. The core of the Alpine Salopette is Polartec ® Neoshell ®, a fabric that we believe to be the perfect for the ultimate action suit shell layer. We heard over and over again from alpinists that these were the best climbing pants they'd ever used.
Utilizing Polartec ® Neoshell ® technology, the stretch three-layer fabric in the pant has a brushed tricot back and rugged shell sandwiching the waterproof/breathable membrane. The fabric provides excellent wind resistance while featuring unsurpassed breathability.
The top half of our Neoshell ® Alpine Salopette is made of a comfortable polyester, spandex blend fabric that provides extra insulation and ensures that you never have to worry about getting snow into your baselayers or having your pants slip under your climbing harness waistband. Features of the Alpine Salopette include: two chest pockets, a thigh pocket, and a through-the-crotch zipper making it easy to relieve oneself with minimal exposure to the elements.
