Possibly the warmest 3 pound bag on earth
At only just 2 ounces over 3 pounds and compressed to roughly the size of a basketball it is difficult to imagine that the Western Mountaineering Lynx can really be warm down to 10 degrees below freezing. Laid out, the Lynx MF’s 32 oz. of premium down lofts to surround you with an outrageous 8.5 inches of comfortable loft. In addition to copious amounts of premium down, a full down collar keeps heat from escaping at the neck and shoulder section of the bag. A well filled draft tube at the zipper prevents heat loss and zipper snags. Don’t be fooled by the low weight, the Lynx is one toasty warm bag.
If you treat your sleeping bags like Linus treats his blanket, you’ll have nothing to worry about with the Lynx MF. Durability can be attributed to excellent craftsmanship and the strong yet water resistant Microfiber construction. Microfiber fabric is very water resistant because it is constructed with an extremely high thread count of dense yarns. Each microfiber yarn has many more filaments than a normal nylon or polyester yarn of equivalent size. Woven into high thread count material, it becomes a fabric that really keeps wind and water out. Since there is no coating or laminate on the material, it is highly breathable. The fabric construction is responsible for weatherproofness, it's not something that can wear off, wash out or delaminate. This is the most technologically advanced non-laminated weather resistant fabric available. Western’s Bristlecone will keep you warm and dry through years of use.
