Backcountry Ski Touring is bountiful in Colorado with opportunities available from the front range into the western slopes between our borders with New Mexico and Wyoming. There are many backcountry huts offering private living quarters for your multi-day ski tours scattered throughout the Colorado Rockies.
Uphill access is available at many ski resorts. Some resorts require an uphill pass and safety check before allowing access while some simply require uphill skiers to follow some requirements and rules when travelling in bounds. Check with your destination resort before arrival to ensure uphill access is open and available. Uphill access may or may not be included with your season pass so double check if you've already invested in a downhill season pass.

Avalanche Danger is the most important safety consideration to make when traveling in the backcountry. We offer avalanche safety equipment for rent and recommend Avalanche Awareness, Rescue and Safety courses for first time adventurers. Your safety and the safety of others is your responsibility in the backcountry. Always refresh and review safety practices and protocols with your team and ensure everyone is comfortable and familiar with the choices they are making in the field. Always perform beacon checks when entering an Avalanche zone.
