Frames are available in Carbon, Aluminum, Steel and a combination of materials. Gravel drivetrains typically incorporate a sturdier derailleur and wider climbing range when compared to road bike components. Gravel bike drivetrains may come with a 1x or 2x front cog to provide ample range for higher top speeds over uphill. Tires for gravel bikes come in a variety of tread patterns some of which are syped and provide tread for anything from dusty to muddy terrain. Some gravel frames can accommodate a variety of tire widths and wheel diameters from 650b to 700c.
