    Before founding Coastal Range Equipment, John Peretti spent five years leading research and development at one of the outdoor industry's leading backpacking stove companies, where he engineered award-winning integrated backpacking stove systems. Based in Manchester, New Hampshire, one of the outdoor industry's premier hubs for backpacking stove innovation, he helped bring new products from concept to production while refining them through extensive laboratory and real-world field testing. Those years built deep expertise in designing gear that is lighter, more durable, and more enjoyable to use in the backcountry.

    Just as importantly, he spent those years listening to backpackers, hunters, paddlers, pilots, guides, Scout leaders, and the independent outdoor retailers who help people choose gear they'll rely on for years. Those conversations reinforced a simple belief: the best outdoor gear is thoughtfully engineered around the people who use it, not overloaded with features they don't need. Lightweight performance should never come at the expense of durability, versatility, or reliability.

    John founded Coastal Range Equipment to build products that solve real problems through thoughtful engineering and to create lasting partnerships with independent outdoor retailers.
